How can we win a real anti-austerity government in Britain? – Socialist Party NUT Conference Fringe Meeting, Monday 6th April, 12.45pm
The Socialist Party will be holding a conference fringe meeting at the Cairn Hotel, Ripon Road, HG1 2JA.
Across Europe, new parties are being built to challenge the pro-austerity consensus. In Spain, a new party, Podemos, has arisen and offers itself as a break from the discredited parties of the past. In Greece, the election of a Syriza government has raised the hopes of millions – and not just in Greece – that big business can be challenged. This has also brought them into immediate conflict with the EU.
What’s needed in Britain to build a new anti-austerity force here? How do we build a party that stands for us and defends education and public services? The meeting is open to all, so just come along on the day!
Why teachers should vote TUSC on 7th May – TUSC NUT Conference Fringe Meeting, Monday 6th April, 8.00pm
The conference fringe meeting of the Trade Unionist & Socialist Coalition (TUSC) is taking place at the Crown Hotel, Harrogate, HG1 2RZ. All welcome!
TUSC has endorsed the NUT’s education manifesto and 10 NUT members are standing as TUSC parliamentary candidates in the May elections. TUSC opposes academies and ‘free schools’ and calls for all schools to be brought under the control of a genuinely democratic local education authority.
