Please see below an update from North Yorkshire Fire Brigades Union (FBU) about the campaign against the cuts to our fire service. There is a petition to sign and a link to the North Yorkshire Fire services consultation questionnaire, which everyone should fill in. Please share widely!
Council Tax Up, North Yorkshire Fire Service Cut! – An update from the FBU
Firstly, thank you for signing our online petition. We now need to spread the word far and wide about these dangerous cuts to North Yorkshire Fire service. We need everyone who has signed the petition to share the link with all there email contacts, Facebook Friends and Twitter followers. We need this petition to snowball.
The link is: https://you.38degrees.org.uk/p/no2firecuts
North Yorkshire Fire service are currently consulting the public about these cuts. Unfortunately we feel they are not doing a very good job of spreading the word.
With this in mind we created www.no2firecuts.com
We ask you to click on any of the stations in question, watch a short video explaining the cuts. Once you have done this follow the link to North Yorkshire Fire services consultation questionnaire. This is how you tell them you don’t want to pay more council tax to then have your fire engines cut.
Please disagree with all the changes at all the stations. If they need to save money they should find a way to do it that does not affect emergency response to the public of North Yorkshire!
Did you know the Chief Fire officer in North Yorkshire earns more than the Prime Minister? Yorkshire and Humberside has 4 Chief fire officers. There are 46 Fire and rescue services in the UK all with Chief Fire officers!
It doesn’t matter what part of North Yorkshire you live everybody will be affected as a result of these cuts.
Together we can stop this
Steve Howley, North Yorkshire FBU
